I am honored and grateful that you are taking this Sacred Chrysalis voyage with me. It is a decade+ in the wombing since I first started teaching Sacred Burlesque at Sacred Yoga Brooklyn. Centering in that community gave me the inspiration to address that although every woman might not want to be a burlesque performer there’s something in burlesque for every woman. Coupling it with healing modalities, spiritual practice and embodiment work creates a transformational space that is sexy, playful, excavating, and integrated.
Sacred - Holy and deserving of respect. Inspiring awe or reverence among believers. Set apart. and to Sacerdos - the one who does the sacred act. Sanctum - a private place
Chrysalis - A quiescent insect pupa in which metamorphosis takes place. The transformational process from caterpillar to butterfly is called Ecdysis.
We are actively engaging in Ecdysis - The process of shedding the old skin
Like a snake shedding its skin.
A crab molting to a new shell.
And of course, the journey from caterpillar to butterfly.
Casting off and renewal.
